I was looking through the 924.org website and saw the 924 convertible projects page. It brought back memories of a project I wanted to do.

I remember seeing an ad in European Car Magazine back in the mid '80s for a conversion kit to do this.(included structural supports, trunk, soft top, and instructions) I contacted the company (I think in Atlanta) about 2 years ago and they said that they stopped importing the kit before the '90s due to lack of interest. They did mention that they could still get the kit from Germany but that it would be costly by not buying bulk.

Has anybody heard about this kit or any other out there that is being produced? Does anybody have a kit laying around that didn't get installed that they wouldn't mind parting with?

On 924.org, Vaughn mentioned (in 2000)at the bottom of the page that a guy named Larry Brent was offering a kit a "couple of years ago" specifically for the 924. Are either of these guys still around and does anybody have their contact information?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you could provide.

chris78 - thanks for the response. Any assistance you could provide from Germany would be great. I was hoping to find somebody overthere who could help. Smoothie said it was a "Bieber Cabriolet kit". Perhaps that can help your search.

Smoothie - That might be the place. I thought it had "coversions" in the name but SC does sound like where the place was located. Thanks for the information. I will check the magazine I have to see if it is the same place or not. If not, I might give them a call.
