What is your colour scheme of the 924S? Mine's gaurd's red with a tan interior...very pretty. O ya, and I have a nice new, gaurd's red cam tower on the new engine. Pics will come soon. _________________ Porschephile at home=Carnut 280 |

I'm going to second that Guards Red on tan leather vote! I could be biased somewhat though...
I did see a 944 Turbo, black with a Can Can Red (read: lipstick red!) leather interior... that was gorgeous! I wonder of there's any 924S' out there with the red leather interior? _________________ 1975 911S |

im pretty sure the color of mine is considered champaign. Tan interior as well..
and the interior...
sometimes i wish the car were red, or black, it adds more to that 'badass porsche' factor. But the champaign is more of a classy color, i can live with it. _________________ 1987 Zermatt Silver Porsche 924S <-- Sold in Nov. '04

Hey exc911ence, who gave you permission to steal my car from the storage place in Topeka, put Flat dish wheels on it, and photograph it before returning it to it's place? I must admit, it is beautiful...O ya, and thanks for washing it too
Just playin, obviously...well, it's beautiful. Makes me miss mine, which we are hoping is back on the road by January 13th....think 13 days is enough time to finish building an engine, and do a quick swap? It may be... _________________ Porschephile at home=Carnut 280 |

Hey technoduck: you still have those huge tie down brackets under the rear of your car? I thought mine was the only one! I recently removed mine to improve the looks of the car, not to mention the weight savings! _________________ 1975 911S |

what are those tie down brackets for anyway? to be honest with you i always did think they were ugly, but never thought about getting rid of them. I just through that it was from something missing off the car. How can i take them off? are they a bolt on peice? or would i need to have them cut off with a hand torch or something. _________________ 1987 Zermatt Silver Porsche 924S <-- Sold in Nov. '04

They were used to "tie down" the car on the boat and the car trailer that delivered your car to the dealer.
Since they were supposed to be removed before delivery, I would take it to any dealer and suggest they remove them for free. |

Yeah, they just bolt on. Not sure what size (13mm?) off hand but there's 3 bolts (was it 3? Hmm...) holding each one on. The left one is a little tricky as the muffler is right there but the right side is completely exposed. Took me the better part of 20 minutes to yank 'em and the car looks a million times better without! There's two in the front too but they're hidden so I left them alone. Still, those 5 pounds could make a difference! _________________ 1975 911S |

ill take them off when the weather gets a little warmed, i was outside for about 20 minutes trying to find the correct size hardware to mount a pair of foglamps that i bought...my hands were frozen when i came inside. And im sure removing them will provide MAJOR improvements in horsepower, afterall every 15 pounds taken out of a car frees up 1 horsepower! _________________ 1987 Zermatt Silver Porsche 924S <-- Sold in Nov.
