I'd appreciate any information about the vacuum line connections to the air intake boots. (1982 924NA)
Basically, it looks like the boots are not pulling enough vacuum to lift the air metering plate. (the injectors squirt if I open the plate manually, but not otherwise.)
The 3 part boot is somewhat damaged and I need to do some mods to fix it at least one connection (below the throttle body). I intend to remove the air intake boots and rehab them. I believe that there are 3 hoses attached to the boot - are they all vacuum lines?
If-you've "been there done that" I'd appreciate any advice or diagram you can offer. Thanks, Peter

The one on the throttle body boot is a vacuum line for the aux air valve (throttle bypass when cold)
The one on the middle hard plastic boot is the crankcase breather. If your crankcase is open to atmosphere in some way (oil cap, no dipstick seal, etc) it could draw air and bypass the metering plates.
The one on the kjet boot is brake booster vacuum source. If your brake booster diaphragm was ruptured this could draw air too. |

Thanks Raize - good to know that the middle line is a crankcase breather. Intend to take of the three boot parts and seal them as a unit. I have to rehab the vacuum line to the throttle body area since it detached at the boot. Will provide pictures.
I will also try to buy replacement boots on this site.
Thanks again, Peter |
