| Ok, maybe someone on here has some input or something I missed. I have a customers 1988 924s in the shop. Car hasn’t ran since 2007. It would crank but would not start. So what I’ve done so far is. I replaced the ignition coil because it wasn’t getting spark. Soon as I replaced it I had spark to the distributor cap but not through it to the plug wire’s, so I replaced the coil the cap , rotor, wires. Car would run off either. So I drained the tarnished fuel filled tank with fresh fuel. Replaced bad fuel pump fuel filter and fuel injectors. Also replaced DME relay. Soon as I tried it it fired up ran and then died out. Found that I lost spark again. So back to Orielys got another ignition coil, installed it car fired right up again ran for about a minute then died out again. Lost another ignition coil. So I’m on my fourth coil and don’t want to try it again because Orielys are out of coils now lol. Anyone have any clue as to why this thing would be eating coils? It should be noted that the owner has someone else work on it before he brang it to my shop and that individual had replaced the ckp sensor for a no spark issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated I have around $1200.00 in parts in this car already and I’ve bought all Bosch replacement parts. |
