Small little thing, but once the car's reliable we get to actually start to upgrade and in this case update our cars!
I'd heard the late 944 park brake handle fit, so found an inexpensive used one (thanks Plyhammer!), upgraded it with the Only944 aluminum brushed button, and now the car looks a little less left-over VW parts bin on the inside.
It's indeed bolt-on, but the geometry of the hook relative to the mounting lugs is a bit different such that I needed to relax the cable adjustment a good bit - maybe 1cm? - to make it all install. I removed my driver's seat to figure out the cable tension thing, but now knowing that the cable adjustment is needed there's not a huge need to remove the seat if your fingers and wrenches are small enough to get in there. _________________ Vaughan Scott

New park brake handle claimed its first victim last night! LOL
Actually valeted it at a party - was shocked to see they had valets for a venue with a good probability of manual trans cars showing up, most American valets won't even park manuals now, they don't know how to drive 'em!
But this was a swanky country club racetrack venue in the Detroit area, so I figured they could handle it (even if sponsored by the local Ferrari dealer who no longer sells manual transmissions? LOL)...
...and they were fine with the transmission, other than the lack of a shift pattern on the knob (oops, my fault! Upgraded to the "Turbo" script insert), but the guy trying to take it away to park it first had to find the park brake on the LH side, then be convinced to put it all the way into the carpet before he could drive off...
On the plus side, the park brake held and the engine didn't stall!! So we got that going for us... _________________ Vaughan Scott
