Ive been exploring engine swaps in 924/944 and I want to know some opinions on the k24a2 engine for my 81' 924. I understand the fitment differences, and I don't have any experience working on engines, but if its possible to do without also buying another transmission to replace the transaxle I'd like to tackle it head on. any information and input helps, thank you!

If you never done engine work i strongly advice you from doing an engine swap. Its way more complicated than most people think, alot of fabrication work, electrics, design work etc. A K24 is not very easy to fit either because its so tall, K20 would be a bit easier, but still a massive project.

Maybe you should start with something much smaller to build up knowledge, skills and confidence. Like getting the current engine running, EFI conversion, some exhaust and intake fabrication etc.

As a guy who is new to mechanical work on cars in general it just sounds insane to try to tackle an engine swap without any former experience working with engines.

Only way I would even think about doing that would be if I had a close friend with experience that could dedicate some time and that I would be ok with the car not running for about 10 years
