Finally got the transaxle oil changed on the 924. The drain plug had some shavings on it... just wanted to know if this was anything to be concerned about:



I'm not that worried, but it never hurts to get a second opinion.

Seems possible that this was the original oil. None of the PO's records indicate the oil was changed. It seemed much thinner than the Swepco 201 I replaced it with. No glitter in the oil that drained, but I wiped my finger around the inside of the drain plug hole and noticed some sparkles on my fingertip. None of the pics I took showed the glitter at all. I could only see it with my glasses off and my finger a couple of inches from my eyes. I couldn't feel any grit between my fingers either.

I was very surprised at how much easier the car shifts. Between that and the new transmission mounts I put on, it feels like a much different car.

Looks pretty normal for all the different Porsche trannys after years of driving.
