Hi All,
I'm rebuilding my alternator and it is missing both the voltage regulator and suppression capacitor. My car is a 1981 UK 2.0L NA and it looks like in 1982 they changed from regulator switch to a regulator.

Does anyone out there know the difference and which one would be best to go with?
Thanks

Curious, I don't even know the difference? I've replaced a few of the earlier style, seemed like they were called regulators too...
Yeah, if you Google that part # you still come up with voltage regulators... the Porsche catalog seems to be the only one that calls it a "switch"... maybe a weak German translation? _________________ Vaughan Scott

I agree Vaughan. Highly likely a poor translation also looks like you can pick up that part pretty cheap since it was used in many vw/audi _________________ 1980 931 since 1989
