Hi everyone,

I’ve recently been working on my car’s electrical system and have run into a frustrating issue. Here’s a breakdown of the problem:

Issue: Both the brake lights and tail lights are turning on together, regardless of whether I press the brake pedal or just switch on the parking lights/headlights.

Background:

    1. I recently redid the ground connection for the brake light switch, which wasn’t functioning before.

    2. I used one of the extra ground wires in the engine bay (intended for optional extras my car doesn’t have) to create this new ground connection.

    3. Fixed an issue with the 12V connection at the relay panel that was intermittently disconnecting, the connector F was kind of loose.

    4. I’m almost certain this issue didn’t happen initially after completing the repairs, but it started after I took the car for a short drive.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

I’d appreciate any advice or guidance!
Thanks in advance.

Edit: It was just a bad grounding, it seems like the power found a weird path to go through and just lighten all the bulbs in the circuit.

Good work; now that means it's probably time to keep going through the rest of the grounds under there - if you haven't already! Though it sounds like maybe you have, if you've been after the F connector and all...
