First post take it easy please!

I just replaced my fuel pump on a 1977 924 N/A that was just going to be a nice little learner project. The new fuel pump however isn’t compatible with the old ones but to tighten the banjo fitting. It looks like there’s no specific but for the pump and they all mostly look relatively the same. Went to hardware store looking for a nut to just crank down the sealing washers but nothing fit and guy said the threads were machined a certain way. My question here is if I should buy a more recent nut for the newer fuel pump or just be guided in the right direction!

here’s the fuel pump I bought and i have it mostly installed currently just trying to figure out this last part.[/url]

That pump certainly looks right; on the outlet side, you have the banjo fitting going on the end of the check valve that comes with and screws into the pump... so it sounds like maybe you are missing the end cap nut to go on the end and secure it?

I'm having a little trouble understanding what your problem is; I'm wondering if maybe your car didn't come with the original configuration, maybe that hose was replaced? Or can you clarify? Maybe share a pic?

just looked it up and it’s the end cap nut I was needing. Owner before me must have switched out the original check valve fitting and put their own for some reason causing the new fuel pump to not have the nut needed to tighten the banjo fitting down.Thank you for the help! I had no clue what it was called and what to order.
