Finally got things together enough to take a picture to share... this is the new factory dash, from the dealer, currently only available in black... still countless smaller things to fix/replace, but it's starting to get there...

If my engine would stop being broken some day i would like to get on with a new dash project. Looks like the texture is a bit different to the.door card? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

A little bit, some streaking also on the door card, but it definitely has a lot more pronounced graining than the dash. That said, the door cards aren't original either, to this car that is. _________________ Vaughan Scott

OOh, so nice. Love the sports seats too!.
I see we share the same steering wheels though yours appears to be a little stouter. To me it's the Goldilocks....not too thick, and not too thin. _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

My only complaint about that wheel is I wish the OD were same as stock. Didn't think to check when I ordered; it's a bit smaller, doesn't make the car easier to drive and so also blocks the gauges some. But I can live with it... _________________ Vaughan Scott

looks very nice.
I also use a smaller wheel, helps a lot with leg room and a better driving position. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Funny thing, the steering wheels.
30+ years ago I thought the lovely original 3 spoke was too thin, so I got rid of it and replaced it with a nice MoMo Monte Carlo. This did many races over lots of years and then I got fatter and thought a small flat bottomed Autotechnica would be the ticket. Oh how wrong I was. Horrible! And too hard on the arms at slow speed, and too direct at speed for small changes of direction/correction.
And now to the Goldilocks.....the Prototipo.
So now the Monte Carlo lives happily in the '44 and the Autotechnica hangs forlornly on the shed wall. And I still miss the original 3 spoke! _________________ 80/81 932/8 ROW |

Yeah, the original 3-spoke was a most excellent design.
...and we run a Monte Carlo in our racecar, been in there for 24 race seasons and still works great! _________________ Vaughan Scott

The prototipo needs a spacer imo to get the driving position and knee space correct. Very easy fix _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
