I haven't other than they might have been mentioned here previously. Interesting though, that I do not find anyone complaining about them online. No failures? Plus they seem to do a lot. Crankshafts too besides all the rod offerings
I have been thinking a lot piston cooling for a few years now. These use the shoulder slot as do so many others. Our Crank has a flat spot on cylinder three. In theory it could lose some of that upward cooling spray to the bottom of the piston

I'll keep it in mind, two sets I might have a use for myself.
Found some information on the internet. BW, as they are called sometimes, has been around since 1995 and are one of the two biggest rod manufacturers in China. Their products often gets rebranded as something else and its not been sold as their own brand for that many years.
Found an English machine shop / engine builder that has been using them. They said that they had been using them for some time, excellent quality. Used them in high boost Cosworth engines and others.
Not Porsche specific, but still a vote of confidence.
The alternative is still my first choice, having Auto Verdi make me a set. More expensive but very high quality and Made in Sweden, with the current exchange rate that option gets more and more reasonable.... _________________ /Magnus, Stockholm Sweden

It seems to be a controversial subject in modified engines. On highly modified engines piston squirters are often omitted or blocked off.
They do cool the pistons, but its is less needed with forged pistons and the oil is better used in the bearings. That I think is the reasoning.
Having said that, when they talk about these engines its probably mostly drag racing engines, "Living life a quarter mile at a time", is quite different to track racing or towing a trailer.
For a street car with forged pistons I think piston squirters can be omitted. Specially if you run on E85 as I plan to do. _________________ /Magnus, Stockholm Sweden

I was looking into it because I designed my own piston which had such reduced mass I was worried a bit about cooling recovery. When I found out how much it cost for material I quit the project...for now
I also had cylinder #3 failed on the CS with aftermarket rods and side squirters. These really did not work on that journal at TDC for that cylinder because of the flat on the crank throw. One of my many theories anyway
Some good news for you and others here wanting rods. This company that makes these rods were referenced in Race Tech Magazine in their connecting rod article right next to the big boy companies like Capricorn (Germany) and others. I was reading it for fun and looked over and saw their name. Pretty cool _________________ 1980 931 since 1989

PPM 924 connecting rods from Austrailia @1200 AUS$.

I asked BW for a picture or drawing of the rods, got this back:
Delivery time is 6-8 weeks.
But I'm hesitant. If I import these to Sweden I will get 27.7% in import duty on the cost and shipping. It would drive the price up to over €410 per set. Swedish krona is rubbish right now too, against both Euro and Dollar.
How's the import duty in Poland or Romania? I know some stuff from China gets imported into Hungary(?) for little or no duty and then redistributed in the EU. _________________ /Magnus, Stockholm Sweden

When importing goods from outside of EU to Poland I need to:
- Add 23% for VAT
- Add 3-3.5% for the customs (car parts)
- Add ~EUR25 for the handling of the duties to the shipment company office
So for me total is +26-26.5% of total PAID value (including shipment cost) and ~EUR25 for handling.
Polish Zloty is also in a diving activity, so this helps nothing. Same boat it seems. _________________ ---

First glance shows a total of 20% tax but i'll look into it a bit more and also check for Hungary since its like 20km away from me  _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits
