|

Guys from Polish Transaxle community are re-starting some nice Racing initiative. The opening is in April 2023 in Poznan Racing Track.
Below sharing the info I got from them.
I’m not a racer, so plan to visit the opening for the picnic and socialising activities. I’D love to meet some of you guys there (at least those from this continent xD).

The whole initiative was created combining three aspirations:
- driving our cars on the track, enjoying the sports adrenaline,
- awakening the spirit of transaxle motopicnics, where race, spend time together, have fun,
- reinventing the motorsports experience.
Fortunately, together with our partners, we managed to make the idea come true. Thanks to Tor Poznań Track Day, Pasja Porsche, Porsche Club Poland and 924.pl.
But let's get back to the topic: we are organizing an International Porsche Transaxle Festival - 23rd April 2023, Race Track Poznań, Poland.
We are planning to have a number of initiatives for participants to sign up for:
1. Time Attack training sessions on the track
Driving along the track with a dice in the car; several sessions of 15-30 minutes, a total of at least an hour of driving during the event. The sum of the three best times counts for the classification.
2. 1h Race
A parallel race, without overtaking on the corners. The greatest distance counts.
3. 1/4 mile races
We will race in twos, the twos will be matched at the event itself. In addition to the taste of victory, the times of each driver will also be measured. Each registered participant has 3 starts. The best time counts.
4. Stewart's test
At Karting, we will do a sports test with a tennis ball on the hood. When the ball falls out, you have to gett out and pick it up. Each participant will have 3 attempts, the best time counts.
5. Beauty contest
Each registered car will get its own QR code. The reported cars will also be marked on the map of the facility (initially we wanted to put them together, but it will be more interesting when people will look for them). The QR code will lead to the place where you can leave a vote (one person can vote for a specific car only once). In the assessment, we take into account the beauty of the car. Results and prizes will be distributed at the end of the event.
6. Uniqueness contest
The mechanism of action is analogous to the beauty contest. But we assess how rare and unique the car is.
7. Mod Contest
As above, but here is more about the level/coolness of modifications
8. 3D scanning cars
During the event you will be able to scan your car into a 3D model. The scanning service will take an hour, during which the windows will be dulled with chalk, identification markers will be applied and the car will be scanned.
The participant will receive a model of his car in the form of CAD files, plus he can order a number of renders in any angle. Ultimately, I would like to be able to additionally:
- order a 3D printout of the model as a scale model (colored)
- develop the model to propagate in Asseto Corsa or other sim racing games
- order a beautiful poster with your car in one of dozens of cool background templates.
Here, success depends on your interest, because the single cost of the scan itself (and subsequent CAD processing) is about PLN 800-1,000 (depending on the number of applicants).
Race Plan:
08:00 - 09:00 - Registration of League drivers (TimeAttack, Race, 1/4 mile), technical examination
09:00 - 12:30 - TimeAttack sessions on track - in groups of 20 cars,
13:00 - 14:00 - 1h race
14:00 - 15:30 - Time Attack sessions on the track
16:00 - 18:00 - 1/4 mile races
18:00 - 19:00 - Awards ceremony, End of the official part
rally plan:
09:00 - 10:00 - Registration, setting up the car exhibition
10:00 - 10:30 - Official start of the rally
11:00 - 13:00 - Stewart's Karting Trial
13:00 - 14:00 - Race - Cheering on the racers at Foodtracks and the depot
14:00 - 16:00 - Stewart's Karting Trial
16:00 - 18:00 - Race - Cheering on the racers at Foodtracks and the depot
The beauty, uniqueness and customization contests will run throughout the event through to the 1/4 mile races, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Conditions:
1. The condition for participation in the event is to sign up in the registration form: http://tinyurl.com/transaxle-meeting
2. The event will be paid:
- basic entry will cost about 10 EUR
- Participation in Stewart's Trial and 1/4 Mile Race - around 50 EUR
- participation in Time Attack sessions and Race - around 200 EUR; as the official standings of the Transaxle League
We are still confirming the prices, the above are only an indication of the level of the spread.
3. The car on the track (and in general) should be technically efficient (details of preparation will be sent directly to the registered drivers) - there will be a technical examination for leaks, play in the suspension, tires, seat and steering wheel mounting.
4. Each person driving a car on the track must have a license, either self-made or obtained by passing an exam. Here you will also get instructions, and you will get the exam online before the event so as not to waste time during it
Also, the whole event is non-profit. All proceeds from this event will go towards covering the cost of the event.
At the very end: I've been talking to a lot of people lately. A lot of people will watch our initiative and, based on their observations, make further decisions, e.g. to support us financially (I dream of truly valuable prizes for the winners, which in themselves will motivate them to come) and other (e.g. bringing 924GTP to the track, closing a piece of the city for the race or renting a hangar where we can have a party surrounded by Porsche). I will also invest a lot of time to let the media and as many people as possible know about it. Seriously, many eyes are on our beautiful transaxles this year...
The opening event will be the biggest Transaxle League event of the season. It's definitely worth coming.

Would love to come, need to get my 924 back into one piece by then though.
Engine is out for a complete rebuild and the car is at the body shop for a serious once-over. Fix all the old “repairs” it had and remove all the filler and obviously repaint. Shop said 4 months until its ready. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits
