Hi Guys,
Anyone know where i can buy a 924 2.0 NA race cam on short notice?
Not much available here in the UK as Newman is out of blanks and Piper is limited to their "fast road" only.
Anything off the shelf in the US/ EU that wouldn't be cost prohibitive to import?
thanks! |

Elgin recently cut some SCCA H Production cams for us but we had to send him our stock 924 cams to be trimmed down. _________________ 1979 924 NA race car

kmcams.com in norway have cams and some valve train stuff, also ENEM here in sweden have done 924 camshafts in the past in all kinds of grinds up to some really wild stuff, Mittelmotor seems to sell them aswell with several flavours. Im not sure who acutally can get them out quick enough, and all of them are more expensive than newman for sure. How about CatCams? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

I have a hot cam just removed from a motor in good condition that I am looking to sell. specs according to the sheet are:
Intake opens 30 BTDC closes 70 ABDC lift 0.451
Exhaust opens 70 BBDC Closes 30 ATDC lift 0.451
I also have a new set of lifters in box that use the adjustment screws.
These parts are available now ex Australia _________________ Over the top of skyline, total brake failure.... hit the wall at over 200 kp/h at the dipper, so anyone who has to brake for the esses is a pussy.

Hey guys,
Found lots of great options thanks to everyone here but unfortunately no body could produce and deliver in less than a few weeks.
So the engine went back together with existing standard parts and a slightly larger throttle body. Will likely rebuild it faster over the winter and go with one of the cam options suggested here. So thank you very much.
Car is running although my engine guy could not get the k-jetronic running quite right. Its fuelling gets too rich above 5000 rpm which we think is affecting power. Mixture is fine below 5000 rpm so using the o2 screw to lean things out will make it too lean at low rpm.
Engine is low on power at 116bhp. Any idea what could be causing this? My engine guy is a 944 specialist so doesn’t really know the k-jet well.
Though underpowered, I managed to get a first full test day last week and am racing this weekend.
Here’s a little video of a lap at donington learning the car: https://youtu.be/85IfJ-201Yk |

Is that at the wheels or crank? If the former, you've done well. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Start with the kjet and factory manuals to check the fuel pressures with the right tool before touching the co screw, a standardish car should be pretty bang on up at high revs. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Hi
This is at the crank - so under-power to stock 125hp. |

So full disclosure, I am not doing the work here, just relaying the question.
I believe the system pressure has been tested with the standard tool and is good.
The issue is that it’s either too rich above 5000rpm or too lean bellow 5000rpm - is there a specific fault in the system that could cause this? |

Do you have any known reference cars from that dyno? The guestimated engine power numbers from the dyno can vary quite alot, you could aswell be on point. Best would be to test another 924 on the same dyno at similar conditions and,or compare acceleration logs from another similar 924 to be sure.
Is the control pressure also in spec? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo
