Anyone have a good experience with Zeitronix? I have the ZT-3 and one of their gauges in my car, and it used to work pretty well. After the car sat for a while with head off, it stopped working (once it was back running again) just shows 14.7 all the time. OK, fine, probably a bad sensor. Bought a new one, no change. OK, that harness looks like maybe it got kinked, bought a new one...no change. Gotta be the controller box, right? I mean, there's nothing left. But if I get any response from them at all, it's "We never see those fail, probably the sensor." OK,fine...if I order YET ANOTHER sensor and it STILL fails, you gonna take it back? (*crickets*) It's no wonder you "never see them fail," I'm offering to show you one right here and you won't look at it!

Ridiculous. I know I'm not buying another one of these things. I'll try another manufacturer, see if they know how to support their products.

You need to re-calibrate the sensor if you have a new one or even if the system was not used for a long time.

Re-cal is definitely a wise place to start.

I've been using the Innovate sensors, have 'em in 3 of my cars now, quite happy.

Inovate in all my race cars. Also have a mobile one to tune customer cars. Thought i had a bad sensor once after not using it for some months...turns out that it only needed to be recalibrated.

I have 4 of them.. All different..

I like my innovate the best..

Just bought a WRX with an AEM with LSU4.9 in it and it was stuck on like 14.5-14.7..
Pulled sensor and it sounded like a broken lightbulb tinking around in it..
Had a spare 4.9 I snagged from the junkyard I put in there and it works fine..

I also have an AEM with the 4.2..

Not sure why I like the innovate the best.. Maybe because it’s in my favorite car..

Pretty weak that the controller doesn't detect the failed sensor and throw a fault, just keeps showing a garbage number you can misuse. That's the sign of bad SW design. So maybe what we're hearing here is that the Innovate has better internal diagnostics than others...

I did have one sensor die, on the (NA) ITB 924, probably due to all the blown engine fluids (oil and coolant) it repeatedly got inundated with. No issues seen in the Prototype or 931... though this discussion does remind me that I ought to re-cal the P2's sensor before next weekend (racing at Mud-O)...

I'm here at NJMP this weekend with my IT-B engined H-Prod 924. Hayes is getting the new rods this coming week and then we will start the build of 4 real H-Prod engines. !!:1 compression and Elgin cams. Looking forward to later in the season

For what it's worth, there is no calibration function with the Zeitronix. They say it needs no calibration.

I liked the gauge choices with the AEM as I recall, but I got a good deal on the Zeitronix. Well...it seemed like a good deal at the time, and worked well for a while. I'm going to mess around with resoldering the connector one more time, but I'll definitely check out the AEM or Innovate if I can't fix it.

I've been using 2 generations of Innovate external WB controllers with my MegaSquirt 2 projects. One failed just after install and Innovate played dumb with me when I wanted replacement because I bought in the US and lived on a different continent I suppose :-/ Bought another one and worked flawlessly. So other than that story these are OK. No I switched to different standalone ECU and it has WB controller onboard.

I had the older inmovate on my red 924 and it worked perfectly for years.
The new, more complex one i have on my 924SC is a bit sensitive to voltage but still works fine.

Ooh these are sweet!

Not sure why I haven’t really noticed these before..
This line of analog gauges would look way better than digitals imo..

I want..

The boost gauge is super nice too..

And it’s actually a digital (reads from a MAP sensor).. Comes with a 4 bar map sensor as well!

This is a very good thing if you need or may need a MAP input, boost/vacuum, for your engine management or logging devices..
Or if you need to upgrade to a bigger MAP sensor.. 4 bar is a good size, read up to about 45psi of boost..

Just a good 4 bar MAP sensor alone is $100, and I would trust innovate to have a good sensor..
A crap MAP sensor is not something I would mess around with (again).. Learned that.. Their are knockoffs out there galore..

If starting from scratch this would be a good 2-in-1..

And their is a matching EGT.. Which you could probably also log..

I need to look and see what kind of signal outputs these have..

I definitely prefer the look of those analog gauges...for those of you using analog wideband gauges, do you get the info you need at a glance? I'm used to seeing numbers for that. Ironically, I'm used to the analog gauge for boost, so it probably doesn't really matter either way, just have to get used to it.
