Mostly interested in suspension update, rear disks and 5 lug conversion.
Can the rear axle carrier swap over as well?
Noob section here’s been a great help.

Thanks! [/i]

The complete suspension can be swapped over. The torsion bar carrier cannot as it mounts differently and is not required to change to the 5 lug anyway. You will need to do some fabricating to get rear sway bar on as the mounts are not welded on many early TB carriers. There are threads in the "How to" section as the how to get it done. Almost none of the engine/clutch/torque tube/ transmission is of any use on an early NA. However much of that has pretty good salvage value if you are willing to take it apart and ship stuff.

Woah woah...

What’s all wrong with the 5 lug 80 931?
I mean uh.. Maybe save it?

Greatly appreciate the input, thank you.

Local parts are rare, especially donor vehicles.
Fixed a few little things that've made a big difference but there’s lots to attend to and sort out....

931 would be cool but no papers so either parts car or weekend track car.
I need a daily driver so I’d rather track down all the bits and pieces from VW that fit and are hopefully available.

List of things to do is daunting..... car used to have collector plates.
Google street view search of previous owners address turns up images of my car sitting In the Same spot in the back yard dating back to 2017. 😝

Engine is strong, it’s just noises from suspension and drivetrain that worry me.
Can’t hear them atm because the du t tape holding the header together has unraveled. 🙄
