What is killing my Tachs?

WTF is going on here?
So I had 2 tachs go bad....Ok I guess thats possible, I had a buddy give me 2 more tachs, they both worked as i tested both in the garage.
So I go for a drive seems to work.....Then DEAD. I think it died right after WOT run.

any ideas what is killing them? and are they fixable?

A short in your wiring sending 12v to the wrong place?

SO: the problem was the Signal and +12v wires were swapped.

FYI

GREEN= Signal wire

BLACK= +12v wire
