Hey all, thanks in part to your helpful advice I have removed the fuel tank on my 82 NA. Now that I've made it this far I feel less urgency about replacing things because I realize nothing is all that inaccessible. The in-tank pump might still work and if not as I recall it was still accessible even with the transmission back in.

But there's a braided hose that was clamped to the tank itself. That seems impossible to replace without taking the tank out again. All the hoses actually seem tough to get to with the tank all in. Would it be foolish to re-use all the fuel hoses? I also thought I read something about lock or crush washers needing to be replaced on the fuel tank mounts.

Finally — I have a rusty, patched-up-but-still-leaking fuel tank. Any recommended course of action? I think I'll just give it away for free and hope it helps someone local.

Standard advice is to replace any perishable parts when they are exposed during maintenance activities, in particular those that appear to be more than a few years old.

Hoses certainly qualify.

It's unlikely you'll regret replacing a hose, and likely you'll regret not replacing one.

That was my sense... hope I can get replacements pretty quickly. Can anyone help me find the hose diameters required for the fuel filler/fuel tank connections?

This is the best I could do, found a few part numbers on Pelican. Not sure about the rest of it though. Any other hoses with inner diameter values would be helpful!
