I am continuing to work through issues trying to resurrect my 1981 Turbo that has sat for almost a decade. Everything is together and the car starts but it wants to idle very rough around 500rpm. I have done a compression test and all looks good there, and now I am looking to get a baseline fuel pressure set. I don’t have a CIS tester with valve but my tester does have a banjo fitting that I hooked up to the top port of the fuel distributor. I figure hooked up this way I should see control pressure? If so what should I be seeing for control pressure? Currently I am getting about 6.5 bar.
Are there any other fuel pressure test I can/should run with my standard fuel pressure gauge?
Sorry for not having a picture but I don’t have a good way to add them to this forum since I don’t have a hosting site to create a url. |

Proper CIS tester is worth the investment. Also recommend having your intake smoke tested for leaks, and your injectors professionally serviced. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I would like to not have to buy another $150 plus specialty tool I will probably only use a handful of times if I can avoid it. Really hoping that I can get some info based on what I have.
Smoke test is a good idea, I will be sure to do that. I have replaced the injectors with new ones, so those should be good to go. |

Putting a fuel pressure tester just on the top port, having disconnected the WUR, you will see system pressure..
If you buy a tester it will easily resell here when you are done with it.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |
