Starter and altenator wiring issue.

I have removed and reinstalled my stater and alternator to replace the wiring to both. Now that I have replaced them I seem to have run the wires incorrectly. Right now the large gauge wire from the + terminal of the battery and the bundle of 3 wires both go on the underside of the starter and then up between the stater and the alternator. This seems to interfere with the oil filter and I don't remember them being there when I did oil changes. Also the wire is not long enough to reach back to the clips on the firewall. How should the two wires run?
