I got a stretch gauge and am going to tinker around a bit with torquing connecting rod bolts. I only have a Haynes manual and it does not mention lubing the stock connecting rod bolts. The torque is listed at 43ft lbs, is that lubed or dry? _________________ Mike

i always use a bit of 20-50 engine oil on them. ive also reused them several times. never had any issues and i redline my engine often. that being said, i am looking for new rod bolts or arps for my 931 engine im building. id like to know your findings with the stretch gauge! _________________ ive saved alot of 924's

I would say that's lubed with oil, yes.
Take a look at my build photos on FB; I seem to recall finding around 0.005" stretch at the desired torque - stock rod bolts, stock torque setting. I think it's in a thread here too... _________________ Vaughan Scott
