Need some help! Did some major work on the interior over the past winter/year. Repaired the dash, seats reupholstered, new shift boot, new turn signal switch and ignition starter switch (key would turn off every time i hit any railroad tracks at speed!) and a few other items. Anyway, put it back together, I turn the key, no crank, getting fuel, but it will not turn over.
1. Getting plenty of fuel to the fuel dist.
2. I went over the DITC cleaned it up, to be honest it looked in pretty good shape. (Is there a quick way to test?)
3. Power is getting to the starter from the battery (starter was bench checked works fine). The smaller red & black wire connected to the starter runs back to the ignition switch, correct?
4. I had an new ignition control module (front left fender) on hand, replaced that.
5. Replaced the fuel pump relay, interesting though, tried several different ones can't get the original (93161511300). the only one that will work is the following #944.615.113.01?
I'm pretty sure its a wiring problem (ignition) and I've been over the diagrams a thousand times. I double checked to see if I didn't pinch any wires. I'm lost! _________________ BillA

Some starters have two posts where the small wire can connect. One is the correct post for the solenoid and the other is ???
If you can, check to see if the small wire has 12 volts when you turn the key to start. If you don't have a helper, run some long leads from the starter wire to a volt meter (or test light) that you can see. When you turn the key, the light should light or the volt meter register 12 volts. If that is good and the starter motor won't turn and you don't hear a click from the solenoid, you have the starter wire on the wrong post on the starter.
