I知 curious if anyone is currently residing in Omaha Nebraska? I知 searching for a second hands on opinion on finding the culprit to a no start issue. I purchased this back in 2008 as my first car. It has sat in garages for the past 5 years and I知 finally getting back into starting it up. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

There might still be a couple of us kicking around on the board. Not that active as we were a few years ago.
Post your problem and someone might be able to help out. _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |

D Hook, if I知 not mistaken you helped me install my clutch at Toms garage in Waterloo back in maybe 2009 or 2010.
Currently it doesn稚 seem to be wanting to start. When it was running it would fire and putter out after a minute. The fuel pump really only has maybe a few hundred miles to it, but the gas is very old and I知 wondering if it needs disposed of. The fuel lines all spray out just fine when testing with the lever inside the air box. The timing belt is my next thought in that but right now I知 just trying to get it started again with no luck. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell

You may have to drain and drop the tank to clean it out if it's been sitting that long. Might have a collapsed hose somewhere choking off the flow. Might try measuring the amount of fuel you're getting at the injectors to see if there's a blockage. Haynes manual should tell give you the specs.
Sold my 924 around 2011 so haven't worked on one for awhile but I recall having the tank pulled, cleaned and a liner installed to keep it from rusting again. Also replaced the intank pump that was full of rust chips, as well as filter. You pretty much have to start at the fuel filler neck and work you're way to the injectors checking to see if each part is working as it should to trouble shoot fuel supply problems. No shortcuts I'm afraid.
Hopefully someone else will chime in and lend some more current expertise.
Did you sell the 928? _________________ '80 924 n/a SOLD |

Late reply, but yes I did sell the 928. It was far more of a money pit than this car haha
I知 going to start with pulling the fuel tank and cleaning it. The gas sitting inside is super old, and and may not even have any quality left to it which is why it won稚 fire. I have tested he injectors so I know they spray. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924- Snailshell
