its through the bearings.
An earth can be rigged using some wire loosely wrapped around the shaft and connected to earth and the shaft. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA

Also check out the horns themselves, they can rot out. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Is there not a ring terminal attached to a screw into the crossmember as well? _________________ '84 944 - kid blew motor

| did you ever find the ground wire on the steering column? I am looking for the same thing. Trying to figure out why the horn only works when the steering wheel is turn at a very specific angle. |

The ground wire is just in front of your oil sump. Remove the undercarriage cover and you will see it. The horn grounds through the steering column through the rack and pinion.
The link below has photos of it.

I discovered with my horn that it only worked when the steering wheel is under pressure. Contact is made through the joints and unless they are forced into contact, the horn does not ground.

Small ground wire in pic. It goes to crossmember. _________________ 87 924S |
