So i'm back from the longest 924 trip i've ever done, around 5000Km or about 3000miles. Starting from Romania, going to UK and back. 5 Days of driving, two 924s, my red GTS wannabe and my S1 931 driven by a couple of friends.
During some seriously heavy rain some moisture got into the ignition amp connector of the GTS wannabe and made it fart for about 1 second.
The same day the 931 lost a nut and a washer off the alternator mount. It still charged and worked until when noticed it when checking the oil. We replaced the nut and the washer and carried on. Those were the problems we had with the cars.
Visited some old friends in Germany, picked up some new friends in Aachen and drove to Silverstone for the greatest 924 event so far. More than 100 924s were present, starting with the 2L NA and mentioning two GTS and a GTR there were all the 924 you could think of, special edition ones, Martinis, LeMans, turbos, modified 924s, supercharged, 968 engined...unrestored mint 924s, perfectly restored 924s....you name it.
Here are some pictures from our journey:
Some pictures i took at the Porsche museum:
Some pictures from 92Forty:

Oh to live near a place where these cars are respected and appreciated. I'm not entirely sure we could scrape together 100 decent and running 924's between the US and Canada together...
This event has been all over my feed and I'm super jealous. I hope you had an amazing time. _________________ Melanie - 1980 931

Green tartan interior, you don't see that on a Civic. |

Agree with above...envious, but only in the best way possible! Schedule and circumstances just wouldn't permit a visit this spring, but from everything I've seen, this event was a smash success. Thanks for allowing us to live vicariously through your photos! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I can't speak for morghen, but in my opinion, it's definitely worth it. It only costs something like €8 and you can easily spend the better part of a day there. The cafe and restaurant have nice selections that I thought to be reasonably priced, great gift shop, and the displays are constantly changing. You can walk right up to one-of-a-kind, priceless cars and see them from all angles. I'd have to say it's probably the best-curated and visitor friendly car exhibit I've ever been to because of the accessibility.
If you ever have a chance to go, I also highly recommend the factory tour. We had a Canadian guide who had worked for Porsche his entire career, moved to Stuttgart late in life, and now does the English speaking tours. The other 12 or so people in our group weren't very engaged, so he and I talked one and one almost the whole tour. He was very down-to-earth, and obviously proud of his company. And of course, seeing how they assemble these magnificent machines was well worth the money, time, and sore feet! _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

What a great trip, I really wanted to be there but housing matters took over this spring. Must be the biggest gathering of 924s ever seen, really looks like great fun.
I really like the museum aswell, as dan sad all cars are very acessible so no problems crawling around/under the cars looking at details Nice for us nerds.. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Does anyone have any better pictures of the Targa 924, shown next to the #72 car?
Its too bad they didn't go into production with that; from what I can see the design looks awesome! _________________ 1978 924
