Torque tube has been under power of a Spindle motor by itself to run-in the bearings. No issues but data has been noted just in case I have to tweak carrier tolerances down the road. Just want to get this into car now for real world testing

Doing a lateral transmission swap so the replacement is going to get coupled and also run with the Spindle before putting it up into the car

Torque tube fully assembled side by side to a steel tube is a legit -20lbs off the car albeit down low. Got to take it off where I can. Would have preferred to remove from up high

Just finally realized that the wastegate spring was 10lb. A gift installed by the PO or the PO before that since he was just a kid. All this time I never knew

Never had a boost gauge in this car (will have one now for this upcoming Spring)

No wonder it was 'peppy' and then responded to the intercooler so nicely

Probably wasn't getting 10psi since its a 2660 but close

Balanced flywheel and clutch assembly installed yesterday evening. Up next, assembled AL TT with trans and shifter as one.

Pushed really hard yesterday. The kind of push that you throw eating and drinking aside. Didn't go as planned

Something isn't exactly aligned even though a clutch tool was used. It was the first time I tried a full torque tube to trans assembly with a S2. That spare wheel well bites with no space. Another reason to love the G31.

Going to hook up the clutch cylinder and exercise the clutch. Of course it has to wait until I can get back to it hopefully this week.

That was it, an alignment issue. Took everything back apart because there will never be an easier time to check everything. Then put it all back and re-aligned. All good now and working on this every day which feels nice

Should add the main reason the rabbit was chased down the hole. Originally the tank had hose leak issues up top and the in tank sender didn't work so out came the tank. Of course that's why everything else came out so why not start modifying everything else? Also transmission is now in

Small update but to me a big 924 victory or on anything vintage for that matter. With gas prices falling and Spring fast approaching, a few gallons of 93oct were poured into the tank while still up on the lift. Gas gauge and low gas light both work! This car was such an electrical mess and these odd accomplishments sometimes mean more than some of the more flashy mods.

Small update but the its holding this project up. The rear carrier shown in the picture is not from the car. Just something we are using to mock up the sway bar mounts.

Needs some tweaking and cutting of the form but first test went well. Its being checked next to the real thing

While waiting on the curing of the Silicon in the CS head, more progress made here. Goal is to have this car going in coming weeks

Metric steel is hard to find here and the most affordable is a bit thick. Was going to use thinner imperial thickness but they price gouge at those odd thicknesses. Solution was to surface grind down to 3mm which is stock. Not too hard to do and made forming easier

Will be trimming the tabs to look stock today as well as making the holes and welding on nuts. Of course make the second one too. Turned out really nice

All welded on both sides. Next up, carrier install on the car, tidy up a few small things, and then drive!

Excited to try new billet 2660 wheel in the rebuilt turbo, plus testing of the aluminum torque with custom bearing carriers ....finally
