Were these tubes originally or at some point made of metal (intake tube between the two big rubber intake boots)? I'm hoping to get a metal one if they exist. I have a vague recollection of seeing a metal one at some point. I'm wondering how hard it would be to find one, if they did exist. Does anyone happen to have one kicking around?

As far as I know all of them are made of plastic. Never seen a metal one passing by. _________________ 911SC - 1980 |

Really??! I've never seen a metal one...that would be very interesting to see. I don't see any different part numbers in PET... _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

If Europe is part of the RoW then RoW also has plastic tubes. _________________ 911SC - 1980 |

Hmmm. I just had a vague recollection of seeing a metal one of those. I could be wrong. If someone has a metal one and can confirm, I'd appreciate it.
My original plastic one got brittle with age, and the replacement one i bought from the Porsche years ago, came poorly formed and since new, the oval opening was slightly caved in on one side and I'm always afraid there is going to be a vacuum leak there. :-/ _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA

Found a video with a metal one. Doesn't look stock tho, but nothing stops you from measuring the size and buying a similar tube
