I have read some mentions about tolulene being added as an octane booster. What is the cost of a gallon of tolulene, is it cheaper to buy premium gas? Is it possible to run more advance with tolulene, and would doing so give me more power or milage? I drive an early 77 with 8 to 1 compression, so would it even help?

Write to Danno at Rennlist. The guy is insane, and a genius. Here's a pic of him testing out a tolulene, isopropanol solution at his test facility in Nevada:



I wouldn't run my car on a hard day of driving without a mix of tolulene and isopropanol.

Here, you can see him wearing a mask, holding an F16 and a lizard he shot. Not a person you want to invite for tea, but certainly a guy you can talk about tolulene with and enjoy a beer.
