It keeps burning out, can anyone confirm what Amp fuse should be in there?
P.S. The picture of the red 924 in the corner of the Forums (above the date) is IDENTICAL to mine |

minime, im sure it is a 16 Amp fuse and no smaller. i also think the warm up reg and the Aux Air valve get power through it aswell, this is why a 16 amp fuse is used.
Have a look how many amps are being pulled at the fuel pump, should be something like 6 to 7 amps. |

Blowing fuel fuses (or in my car, melting them), is a known problem. Its listed in the FAQ, and usually means your pump is shagged, time to replace it. It should also be very noisy (when its shagged).
I have both an external and in-tnak pump, I took the car in, the mechanics tested both, both were real loud. They quotsed £340 to replace the pair. The bonus with this is, the tank will be drained and the crud removed at the time. All I need now is the money.

Yes a new fuel pump sounds likely,
I have put 2 16ampers in about a week but they both blew, so I replaced it with a 25amp, in know this is naughty but I am doing 60 motorway miles a day, I cant afford to have the car dieing on me a 90mph on the fastlane.
£300 eh.....................ouch.

OK, so you'd rather have the fuel pump die in the fast lane? Better think about replacing it!

I've blown enough fuel pumps in these and other cars to know that you always use good gas, buy from a reputable source, to minimize chance of failure, and to know that 300# is a bargain compared to that plus towing fees and all associated with a breakdown!!!

its £100 ish for the exterior pump, +-£140 for the interior.
They quoted me £340 to replace the pair. Since I dont want to piss about with the fuel system (and dont have the facilities to fix/whatever if it goes tits up), I will pay JM Machtech to do it when I get the money
