I've been trying to put together a list of reliability modifications to do to my 931 in the near future. Would be curious if anyone had any suggestions:

- Wastegate rebuild
- Turbo seals/turbo rebuild
- Wideband O2 installation
- CIS tester
- Replace fuel lines (soft) with better lines (hard lines), however, unsure where to have this done as there are no local places I trust for this. The soft lines up front have the plastic insulation covering on them starting to crack and I do not want the cores to harden and fail. I feel like these are one of my top priorities. Call me crazy but I hate engine fires.
- Ignition... Anything anyone recommends? It seems fine, but are there any reliability/efficiency upgrades for this?

Alternator. Every single 924 I have owned (that was drivable) has had the alternator fail, usually at the most inopportune time.

I would add a complete coolant flush and service while you're at it. Use the orange stuff, you can probably get away with 60%:40% water:glycol mix in your climate. Add a bottle of water wetter. Change the t-stat while you're at it. I would recommend doing the cooler range t-stat and temp switch, especially in your climate. Will keep the car running much cooler.

Run one bottle of Techron fuel cleaner through the gas tank each season. I like to run the tank down to almost empty, dump the techron in, fill up, and then go drove the car *hard*.

Basic tune up stuff: plugs, rotor, cap, wires, fuel filter, air filter. For an S1, you could go with a hotter coil and a basic MSDS ignition unit. I've not run one on my car, and some guys have reported problems with them destroying the dizzy cap. I've not had any problems ever with any of my OEM capacitive discharge ignition systems, so I've never been motivated to use anything aftermarket.

Use a good quality 20W50 with adequate ZDDP content. Check your lifters at least once per year for pitting or wear. Check valve clearances once a year.

Replace trans oil. I recently discovered that the FSM recommends GL5 for the G31 trans, although I and many others have been running GL4 for some time with no issues. There are conflicting reports here on the board about whether GL4 or GL5 should be used.

If you haven't replaced the clutch cylinders, check them often, especially the master since it will leak into the cockpit when it fails. When one goes, replace them both as a pair. Flush and replace the old brake fluid every two years.

That should keep you busy for a while.

Already been done.

Flushed it, but not with the orange stuff. I do have a tstat and some new hoses on the way.

I should probably run more through it, not a bad idea.

Yep, did a tuneup when I bought it. Never bothered going with a different coil though. Is it OK to just jump to a blaster coil?

Yep VR1 and Brad Penn is the only stuff my cars get.

I bought some Amsoil, have yet to flush it.

No leaks on either of mine. Inspected them when I got it. The blue hose was cracked. Bought that last week, will replace it on my day off.
