Part numbers should be listed in PET, start there. The FSM will have more details on the actual rebuild process and any tools you'll need.
Once you gather the part numbers, you'll likely get them from VW/Audi and Porsche, so hit up Sunset Porsche in Hillsboro for the best deal on VAG parts.
Transmission is Audi based, and is the precursor to the later 016 5-speeds, which is why they are almost a straight install.
If you're feeling adventurous you could look at doing something like this: http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=23820 While you've got it apart. _________________ Stefan

the four speed transmission are in very little demand. You could probably buy them all day for $100 or less.
Not worth the cost of rebuilding IMHO. A dead four speed is a great excuse for a five speed transmission swap. |

+1 to what gohim said - don't put any effort into it, put the effort into finding a 5-speed instead, refresh that if you're still dying to do some wrenching. _________________ Vaughan Scott
