Need to understand how to wire up the SR10X Starter in the 924 - The SR10X Starter has terminals to left and right of the center battery terminal.
The original Starter has terminals that are both on the left of the center battery terminal, so there is an upper and a lower wire/terminal.

So, does the upper wire go to the left or right of the battery terminal on the new starter?
Thanks in advance!!! _________________ 1980 924 NA 5 Speed |

Probably the right one. Easy check is to put +12 volts (jumper cable from battery) on the Pos terminal, other lead to one of the bolt holes. Use a screwdriver blade to make a +12 volt connection to one of the two spade tips. The one that activates the solenoid and spins the starter motor is the correct one to hook up to in the car.
Probably the right one.

The top wire goes to the Left Terminal on the SR10X and the lower wire goes to the Right Terminal.
The SR10X is smaller and lighter and bolted right in and does appear to have a higher RPM when cranking the engine.
