Hi folks got myself a new project car that's been laid up for ten years. So far I have only had time to give it a quick once over and check out a couple of things. I will start a proper thread once I have some decent pics. Anyroad the problem I have at the moment is the gearbox has been converted from auto to manual but it has the 4 speed box . Anyway the reverse light has never been connected and I cant find the wiring for it. Anyone know where the reverse light switch on an auto is?.
Theres a long list of other stuff to do mainly the fuel pump and a battery drain plus the ridiculously heavy clutch on top of getting it running. I have spent too much money this month so i'm doing the free stuff first.
I think the clutch may be down to a rusty cable and the fuel pump I know is knackered but the battery drain I have not had time to look into. The battery is checking out at 12v off the car and powered the windows when wired direct but as soon as I connect it to the car it drops to 9v and starts counting down a mv at a time but I dont know where to start with that really _________________ It could always be worse so don't worry about it and get the spanners out |

The Haynes book should show you where the reversing light switch is. It has exploded diagrams of all the gearboxes.

Found it today its not on the gearbox it runs off the ignition stop switch on the gear selector. Found the wires taped up under the centre console so I will sort that this week. _________________ It could always be worse so don't worry about it and get the spanners out |
