Hi
I am trying to help a friend to get his electric window working again.
He is English, so I have not seen this problem myself...
Maybe someone can help, it would be much appreciated!
The car is a 924 Carrera GT "938"
He found this:
1) My electric windows left side stopped working.
2) I check....no power is going to switch.
3) I ran power from right side to left side from right side switch......It worked.
4) So I decided to take a power source from a 25 amp fused supply, I put a 20 amp fuse in the lineto the switch.
5) It blew the 20 amp fuse, so I put a 30 amp fuse in. result nothing. Not blown fuse but no power to switch.
6) could i have blown the switch?.. or motor?
7) are these switches on a relay. if so where is it located?
Right side switches work Ok with power to both.
He also describes a fuel smell when he turns left! What can be the problem? He suspects a detoriated fuel return line? |

Probably a bad switch if you are careful you can take them apart and evaluate contacts or just get another switch.
Fuel issue may be a bad tank I was about ready to sell my 82 steel tank that looked great. When we removed it we found a section of the top had rusted through, probably from condensation. They can also crack on the top. That being said, he may want to check the return lines like you mention. Pull the cover on the inside where the fuel filler hose runs . All sorts of fuel and vent hoses in there. _________________ Ken - ebay: wandrey1 , *0 , *00 , *01
