Long time no talk 924ers.
I finally am out of school and will tackle the job of replacing my right rear trailing arm for my 931.
I do need help doing so though; I've never done so before.
What advice do you guys have?

Also kinda embarrassingly, I can't quite make out the rear jack stand areas from the haynes manual

Thanks again!
Richard

Really, the only 2 problem areas you may have are breaking the axle nut and disconnecting the brake cable (that was a PITA until we figured out exactly how it connected at the carrier). Be prepared to bleed the braking system and take your time and you'll be okay. Usually I put jackstands under the rear torsion carrier, and I think you can do that when you remove the trailing arm. It's been about a year since I did this and I know I've forgotten a lot, but I recall it being a much easier job than I'd anticipated. Line up the new arm with the dirt marks left when removing the old one and you can drive it to an alignment shop. Beware the cheesehead bolts holding the CVs and retorque these to 30ft/lbs when you reassemble. Actually, it's a good time to replace all of them.

There's more, but I can't remember right now.

Why break the axle nut?

Just pop the CV Joint bolts loose.

Well, I was assuming he was going to swap in the good parts from the old arm but I guess that's not necessary if the whole assembly is being R&R'ed.

It's true you don't have to strip the arm.
