ever since inheriting my 1987 924s i've noticed that the regular cooling fan doesn't come on. The temp needle will slowly creep up and i have to turn the a/c fan on to get the temp down. Since I usually drive the car when it's warm outside and am running the a/c it isn't a big issue but the cool weather has gotten me thinking about fixing this. Any ideas?

Check Clark's Garage for fan trouble shooting. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Sounds like the fan temp switch in the radiator has gone bad. The switch screws into the radiator about halfway down on the drivers side. Unplug the two wires from the switch and touch them together. If the fan comes on, then you've found the problem. _________________ Dan.

ok, my a/c fan doesn't work... my a/c works and the fan looks new (only had the car 4 months) "88 SE. Asked a mechanic friend who works on 928's and he is helping someone with 924 and similar problem... all relays and fuses + new a/c cooling fan and still no operation. Is there some electrical gremlin we are missing?
thanks! |
