Yes, they were used on the 924 Turbo. I'm using one now on my 924 (albeit with a sidedraft intake) If you think about it, the 2 inch diameter change only causes 1" less room on the intake side. _________________ Stefan

So I can install the whole unit instead of the 7inch unit then. Im also confused about the hydraulic piping since they differ on the master cylinder, any ideas? The 2 inch diameter difference is no problem then.

Yeah, that's why I had to replace all of the hard lines on my car.
There are some good threads on that here. I think there was one master cylinder available from the 79 924 with the 4-wheel disc option that would work with the old style brake line routing, but I'm cheap and my labor is free so I changed my car to match the 80 and later cars to use 944 parts _________________ Stefan

Thanks Fiat I know where I stand now and probably know what is needed to be done. The easiest way out therefore is to service the existing master cylinder on the 79 model in my case, leaving the 7 inch brake booster in its place too.

Well, if you're staying with the stock brakes, yes.
If you're moving to 4-wheel discs? No.
If you're building a race car? I'd ditch the booster and use a racing master cylinder setup with an adjustable bias bar.
Otherwise, 924 turbo/944 parts seem to work well for dual purpose use (at least at first, most find they have to move closer to racing brake solutions as they add more and more tire under the car) _________________ Stefan

So you reckon it would be a better idea If I ditch the 7inch booster and go for the 9inch booster and master cylinder? Regarding the hydralic pipes to fit the master cylinder, are they an easy fit or a PITA to fit? Do I have to change anything else like calipers disc brake hubs etc?
