Hi folks.

I'm making my new inlet manifold which will be ported to match the head, with a little material removed from the head ports too.

My question is running @1bar - what is the best option for the inlet gasket?

1) just a thin smear of liquid gasket maker on both parts - allow skin to form and then bolt it up.

2) just a custom made gasket made from 2mm thick synthetic gasket sheet matched to the custom ports.

3) both 1 and 2 together.

So what's best considering sealing, and preserving the smooth transition from mani to head?

Cheers. John.
