I thought they were 2500lbs stock (or in that ballpark)? Did the car take a giant poop before it was weighed or have you done weight reduction on the car?

mine was 1150kg (iirc) with full tanks (petrol + lpg) and no weight reductions, and power windows.

you've reduced it nicely! I like it when cars get below the 1000kg line.

Wonder what mine weighs.
Deleted-CAR 1 AND 2
REAR SEATS
CARPETS FRONT AND REAR
FRONT SEATS TO BE REPLACED BY 1 OMP RACE SEAT
WINDOW MOTORS
REAR SCREEN WIPER MOTOR
DOOR /REAR SIDE PANELS/CARDS
STEREO
NO AC
SCREEN WASH TANK
HEAD LIGHTS
HEAD LIGHT MOTORS AND STUFF
SPARE WHEEL + JACK
SOUND PROOFING
STANDARD RIMS TO BE REPLACED BY LIGHTER ALLOY RIMS
CAR 2 WILL HAVE FRONT PLEXIGLASS SCREEN AND MAYBE SIDE WINDOWS.

Think im in the 1000kg bracket as I am. It seems that with every 10lbs or kilos removed from the car you add 1bhp???

I would like to get a rear plexiglass and a front bonnet in the future for at least 1 car anyway.

Anyone else doing weight reduction??

Holy crud man! That makes me HAPPY!

I have done....

- Rear seat delete
- Removed dash, replaced with CF dash
- Removed spare tire
- Removed toolkit
- Racing seat
- Removed stereo system
- Removed sound deadening
- Removed CIS system, replacing with megasquirt

I can imagine, however, that your plexiglass and fiberglass has helped a lot as well. Those are on my list eventually.

I am also going to be removing my headlights and going with GT lights.

This makes me happy knowing that my car will be nice and light when it's all done. What a huge amount of weight to lose!

GOOD JOB! Nice, man!

The metric system just is miles ahead on your inferior system!

I believe the rear screen weighs a ton. I have one car still having the absorbing assistors in place, the other hasnt. They have been removed so that the rear screen can be also removed. Lifting the tailgate up without the assistors was a small feat, ITS HEAVY, REAL HEAVY.

Replacing this with plexiglass will be a great help, yet I wonder what side effects with weight distribution the removal will have. Any experiences anyone?

Probably yes, I was quite surprised of its weight after I tried to close it without the assistors after removing a temporary wooden stand i placed to hold up the hatch while i unbolted the assistors.

Anyone know the weight of the standard 924 N/A Gas tank?
