Hey guys quick pop in ....

I have the opportunity to get a non running 1980 931 with 5-lug, sport seats and an LSD tranny.

Not sure I need the headache of parting the thing out unless it's going to at least pay for itself.

Anyone have ideas for the current valuation of leather sport seats and an LSD transaxle ?

Sorry to post this here but it's been a while since i've bought or sold these things so I'm a bit rusty....

Thanks guys,
Leigh

Is it saveable?

Shipping is probably only about $1000 in the states..
Maybe someone might want the project?

The sport seats I'm not familiar with but the transmission is probably going to be a case of finding the right buyer but I'm sure you could get at least 500$ if not closer to 750$.

If an LSD transaxle is only worth $500-$750 then it's not worth saving unfortunately.

I'll pay over 1K just for the LSD unit...+ installation on an Audi style gearbox.
A factory G31 with factory LSD, if in decent condition should sell for around 2k in my opinion.
Sport seats prices have gone crazy in europe, a set in very good condition can jump the 4k mark. So 6k for seats and gearbox can be a real guide price if the stuff is in good condition.
931 head 350-400 if in good condition, pistons about the same...or round up to 1k for a complete engine if in decent condition.
Then its a lot of 931 specific parts like nose pannel, chin, hood, plastic sills, dials if its an S1 and so on..

The problem is that it's a used box in unknown condition, if i buy a spare box i assume it needs a rebuild. The LSD will deifitnely need a rebuild since they are plate type diffs. I would buy a non lsd for about 150usd, though they might be more rare over there.
