Hey guys,

My name is Erik and i just joined today. I bought my 1987 Porsche 924S today for $930 with 148k 4cyl 5spd. It needs the slave cylinder replaced or bled but i was driving it around college. I also have a 1970 Opel Gt so now i have further joined the German car family.

That is very nice for $900! Make sure to replace that timing belt ASAP!

A lot funner than replacing the bent valves you'll get if it breaks.

Check Napa/Motion/Schucks Auto parts stores for the rear hatch shocks. I picked up a pair at Motion for about $25 and now when you turn the key in the hatch lock the hatch raises itself. Cheap fix.

If you're going to do the front of engine service yourself (and it should be done immediately), you're looking at a minimum of 8-12 hours your first time.

You're going to need a minimum of $300-$500 for special tools, if you're source the alternative special tools to the Genuine Porsche Tools, or about $800 if you buy the real tools.

The parts are going to cost you at least $600-$1000, depending on where you buy them, and what brand the parts are.

Don't start the engine or drive the car unless you have documented proof of how many miles, and how long it's been since the engine had a FOES (front of engine service). The FOES should be done every three years or 30K miles (whichever comes first).
