Because they're quite rare.

I have one for sale, it is a "handyman special". It is complete, as we speak, 5 lug suspension. come and get it for $500. Obviously it needs work and paint. Black interior, even has the Blapunkt stereo. Dash is cracked. motor turns over by hand (starter is bad)

I dunno about that...

You think it's tricky to find a Turbo? Try finding a specific Turbo in decent condition. Say, an '82 with all the good bits. After all my years on this 'board only a few immediately come to mind, and I seriously doubt I've seen more than half-a-dozen. That's one very rare bird.

Could be because they're all broken.

well I do believe I'm about to try my hand at saving one. I want more power than this N/A has.. And those BAE turbo's are impossible to find.

Yeah.. thats the issue.. it costs so much to get one back into good running shape if its been poorly maintained or sat for a long time.

Aint that the truth.

Spent a small fortune on my 82- 931 and i still can't get it to run for more than a few weeks without something new breaking.

well thats the same issue i've had with my 771/2 NA.. no sooner do i fix something then something else is broken. it makes me not even want to try the 931.. if i could find a BAE kit for the NA i'd just do that.. but i want more power fast and just about the only way i can find to do that is a 931.

Funny thing is, none of the issues i've had have been CIS related.. except for the cold start/ hot start issue that i fixed.. and even that was more the CSV than anything. the bulk of my issues are cooling and oil related.

Here's a good looker, a bit overpriced, but who knows where negotiation would take you:
