I just got my 924S and its going in the shop tomorow to get checked out. but while i was driving today a spotted a orange 944 sitting at a little car lot in no where. So i zipped in to check it out. The paint was real bad but no dents and evrything was there. The owner came out to talk to me and told me that he just got checked out by the Porsche dealer in Tulsa and it was mechanicaly perfect. He showed me the papers from the dealer. Now at this point i hadnt seen the interior because of the jet black tint. He said lets go for ride and whole heartily agreed until he opened the door and NOOOOOOOOOO IT HAD AN AUTO TRANY!!!! which is to bad cause i was going to buy it. he had it at 3,000 and by the time I left he droped it to 2,000 but an auto in Porsche whats the point? or better question were's the fun. there's just somthing about going through gears in a european sports car that makes life great oh well maybe next time.

the're not bad if built for the application,

the unit comes from the audi 4000 or 5000 or some piece of crap car.

I'd love to get my hands on a good automatic, mainly for my wife. She's not real fond of my car but I think it's because she's never learned to drive a stick. I have a feeling a few minutes behind the wheel of a 924 or 944 and the grins would start coming.

Or not.

My wife will NOT drive my Porsche under any circumstances.....she has an accident faithfully every 6 months. A month ago she just drove off into the ditch after her lunch rolled off the seat and she watched where IT went instead of the raod. No one was hurt (good thing) More bodywork for me.(Very bad thing)
I told her she can drive it with the damage until my Porsche is out of the paint shop.

I wish i could keep my wife out of mine. She says she's a country girl and doesnt like cars just trucks. Funny how she chooses too drive my 190E or 924s or over the really ugly hick cruiser work truck that i refuse to calim as mine.
