All,
When I got my 79 924NA is was all apart. Got to the point where I am putting new carpet in. My question relates to the mounting of the carpet in the rear. How is the carpet fastened around the rear? There are holes but I have no idea if there is a trim strip or individual fasteners or what any of it looks like. Thanks to all!

My '87 has snaps to keep things in place, across the back end. Otherwise, it just sits there.

This leads to the need of an OEM replacement due to the spare tire, unless you make it up with some fancy carpet stitching.

I guess you could lose the spare...

I bet there isn't an OE one in existence that's safe to drive on.

No doubt.

Shy of mounting and driving on it, how would the spare be tested? or maybe we just assume certain things about the contruction and store them for energy re-cycling?
