So I'm finishing up the deal on my new project... It's a 1980 931 Turbo (S) that has belonged to one of my friends for about 4 years now, before that it belonged to another of our friends's dad. It's coming with lots of extras including a parts car.
I'm probably going to switch this to EFI (unless the CIS would work decently) to support a K27 on custom manifold. (I'm getting a K27 with the car, which is part of the written agreement) other than that I'm planning to do quite a bit of body work. GT qrt. panels. 944 fenders. 951 bumper.. and 931 nose and hood.

lets start with the pics.

Parts car is on left. Project is on right.

Project car.

Interior is gonna need alot of cleaning.. maybe new carpet.

I've never seen a 924 with interior like this before...

The speedo has been replaces with a faster one. OD is not accurate.

There are alot more pics.. prolly too many to post. It does have the "trash can" wheels as well as 4-wheel disc brakes, the 3 spoke wheel and Getrag G31 Dogleg. This from my understanding is the 1980 Turbo S. (should have LSD I hope)

A engine bay shot.

The CIS. Previous owner thought that this had been replaced at some time with.. dunno but i figured yall could make sence of it

There are lots of parts that I'm getting with the car. Here are a few...

951? intercooler.

Extra head

An extra turbo or two.. or three.. (plus the two without housings in the other box)

Another box of parts..

Here comes a question. There are 3 complete turbo's sitting around as extras.. What is the difference between a K26 with a red tag and one with a blue tag?. First is a red tag and second is a blue.

I'll post pics of that K27 as soon as it gets delivered into my possession.

Any thing yall want to see let me know.

I got a good deal on it.. Everything you see plus sets of Euro pistons, Imperial Pistons, K27 and more for $800

Put it back together stock and be happy with it. It is a fun car right out of the box. Looks like you have most of what you need to make it. Hopefully you have a pair of appropriate seats to match the car.

I don't know what you mean by this.. The seats in it right now all match. Driver's, Passenger's, and rear bench.

As far as fun out of the box goes.. the only thing I have that's "fun out of the box" is my ZX-6R.. cuz I'm too scared to go anyfaster on a crotch rocket.

I would love to turn this into a track car. I don't like racing my Skittle cuz it's Wrong Wheel Drive (FWD) so I figured a good, light, powerful, rear wheel drive, roadhugging, adrenaline rushing 931 would do great would fit the bill.

And the project car starts, runs, and drives as it sits right now. Just has minor oil leak at the vent tube and needs cleaned out

I may be incorrect. I've never seen seats like those you pictured in your photos as OEM in a 924 Turbo, though other board members can advise on that. They appear to me to be from a 911. But if the rear bench matches that makes it more likely they are original.

I have one of those seats from a '79, from a two-tone door panel car like his. Nice haul of cars and parts!

The wheels on your parts car are sticking out awfully far. Are they Fuchs, by any chance?

Not really sure. I didn't get a shot of them. I know they are 5lug and that they aren't the "trash can" wheels.. I think they are more like the ones on this 944.

sounds like a project, good to see you've got some extras there.
My advice is to strip the car down completely and assess all the parts such as tranny, block and turbo before making any plans.
With the availability of parts around it may be easier to do a more modern engine swap, didn't think I was going to say that eh?
I would reccomend though setting yourself a budget and then pricing out a few options based on your goals , committment and experience i.e is this car going to be with you in 5 years time? can you weld ?
IMHO the GT front spolier is a better fit and FG ones are pretty available, the stock indicators and driving lights can also be used.

Those would be cookie cutters. They're good lightweight wheels, but not as valuable as the Fuchs. This is what the Fuchs look like:

If you have the Fuchs, you could make back your original investment, or more depending on the sizes, just by selling them.

Either way, it looks like you got a great deal for everything you got.

No they are just cookie cutters, but one of the previous owners, (not the person im buying it from but the person before him whos like a second dad to me) has an extra set of rims (he pronounced em "flukes") that he is gonna give me off one of his 944s before he sells it.

The Fuchs he has have diff center caps too. they are polished with a colored emblem. Also he showed me reciepts of all the rare things he has put into it. (the seats arent stock i saw where he purchased them)

The last picture reminds me of an earlier post in the body and interior section about wood. The stick on laminate of the above type I find hideous.
