|

Ok I just finished the 5 lug conversion to my '78 and Im pretty pumped however I have a issue with the wheels. I have a set of the fuch alloys and since I havent measured the wheels them selves just the tire width and I got them from a junk yard im pretty sure the fronts are 7" and the rears are 8".
The issue I'm having is the fronts and rears stick out from the side of the car quite a bit, I look like I'm driving a monster truck from the front or rear. There are spacers on the rear wheels that, if removed, tuck the rears under the car nicely but the fronts still stick out from the fender at least 1.5".
Aside from the CGT or 944 flares does anyone know of a way to tuck these tires under the car or is there another set of wheels that someone could recomend for street driving so that the wheels are hidden a bit. The car is going to be mainly a track car so I can use the fuchs on track because I dont care about cosmetics there so much, but for trips to the events at least it would be nice not to be drving Grave Digger. Thanks guys. |

Have you tried putting the 7s in the rear?
The Factory optional wheel set was 6s in the front and 7s in the rear. If you have the right 7s, you could buy a set of 6s for the front. |

The Fuchs have 30mm wider offset compared with stock and your rims are 1" wider as well. You have to find a negative spacer
7" Fuchs have ET23 and 6" stock ET55. Try to find late 944, 924S, 931 or 928 wheels. Late 911 will do but are larger and more expenssive. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen
