|
|
One of those latest 06-10 sedan civic was parked next to me yesterday and I realised that this car has door mounted mirrors like on our cars.
Angle seemed also quite close to what we have.
Does anyone here ever tried this or has a set of civic mirrors to compare ?
If this works with a little DIY it would be quite cheapper than true 968 mirrors
civic sedan mirrors can be had for 50$ a pair, 968 mirrors seem to be more around 250$

But the Germans and the Japanese worked together before. Back in the forties i believe. Don't remember how that worked out. _________________ 1982 Porsche 931 (Sold)

no hard feelings at all, I know this solution ain't for purist.
Unfortunatly I don't see my 924 as my entry into the world of prosche but rather a cheap sports car that is better in any aspecs than the typical sport compacts available at that price.
I guess I'll try it and let you know _________________ 1979 924 NA |

What's wrong with the stock mirrors??
Putting another brand of parts on any car just makes it look like you don't know shit about your car. Especially Jap stuff on a Porsche!
Porsche second hand parts are plentiful, may be 968 mirrors? _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Jap engineering is some of the best in the world and just so happens to cost less then euro parts, feel free to throw your money at whatever makes you happy _________________ 1979 NA

I will happily use any mirrors from any car on my porsche, as long as they fulfil 3 needs:
-First, they need to fit. if they're electric, they need to be controllable by the stock joystick.
-Second, they need to be aerodynamic. the flag mirrors are more like ones you'd find on a truck than a sports car.
-Third, they need to hold up to normal use. That's just a given.
968 mirrors are a bit pricey, even compared to many "racing mirrors" that I have considered. If these work, I'll use them as well.
BTW, I also have a pair nissan headlight motors floppin' the winkers on my 924. gonna rag on that, too? _________________ proud owner of a 1979 924 Sebring Edition with a 931 trans that looks horrible but somehow runs... |
