I've been googling around with hardly any luck. Are there aftermarket or OEM replacement shift boots and knobs for the 4speed in the NA 924? My boot is in pretty sad shape and the knob has way more wiggle than I'd like.

I don't need the H-pattern to match, for what it's worth.

Found my answer from one of the commenters on Jalopnik:

http://www.automotion.com/adapter-shift-knob-924-944-968-for-porsche.html

It's an adapter so I can fit a regular round-post universal knob. The same site has replacement boots as well. Works for me.

I just ground the shaft of mine down and threaded it to mount my new shift knob:

That's a nice shiny knob you got there.
I had one like that on my TR6. In winter it would ice over and give you a numb hand in no time. In summer it was as hot as the sun. Still liked it though.

Hmm, why did I have you figured as more of a "cue ball" guy?

Gots ta love da krome-dome!

Yeah, it will probably be cold in the winter, but then given how poorly the heater will likely work (assuming the car is running this winter > sigh....) I'll likely drive with at least some thin gloves if not my racing gloves.

Of course a TR7 isn't known for its winter weather comfort

I just barfed in my mouth......
I had a TR6. Not a TR7. Humungous difference.
Still freezing in winter but you can't compare a Throaty TR6 to a wheezy TR7..... Please.

Rant over.
You would think English cars would be better weather proofed, considering they come from the cold side of damp world. I used to drive in the rain with the foof down because there were less drips that way.
Seriously though. There's not much more fun than driving a tail happy TR6 in the snow. Still miss that car. Some guy just offered me one and i'm sooooo tempted. But it'll mean selling the 931.

Sorry, reading comprehension failure there.

Grew up with LBCs, so I should know the difference (Dad had MGB's, Bugeye Sprites, MGB GT, TR6 and an original Elan)

Step-dad had a TR7 briefly, it was a shit pile to say the least, and so was he.

We still build leaky cars, the S2 Elise I had for a bit had a disclaimer on the roof saying it was shower proof only...
