Plan to run LeMons than go Spec 944.
but we wanted to look at what we should do to most likely maximize our
longevity of the engine.
we've got a 88 924S.
Plan to do bearings, ARP bearing bolts/nuts.
replace the oil sump pick up, and add a skirt.
is a Dayco timing belt sufficient -- or are folks ponying up the extra $100
for a racing timing belt?
any other must do that are budget reasonable?
thx,

Buy a new radiator, and don't run a thermostat. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I would expect to run the dayco belt.
If you're in there, you might consider lightening/balancing; can be done easy/cheap at home, doing just the rods and pistons...
By skirt, did you mean a crank scraper? _________________ Vaughan Scott

Not that familiar with the crank scrapers,
what i was thinking of was a baffles system.

Mike
There are three options for crank scrapers from Ishihara-Johnson:
A single scraper;
A dual scraper;
Dual scraper with windage tray.
I am a reseller for I-J, so if you're interested in this approach, I can help you acquire the bits you need for less than what you can purchase them directly. Send me a PM if interested. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
