Boy, those adjusters sure look close to the hood. Anyone had any issues with this? _________________ Toofah King Bad

It's definitely a known concern on the 931, particularly on the NACA duct side. CLOSE HOOD CAREFULLY.

I don't have Koni's on the 941, but at some point in it's past, the NACA inside surface of the NACA duct met the top of the strut mount. It's not an issue at present, so I don't know when it occurred (sometime prior to me owning the car...). But the NACA duct is VERY tight to the strut mount regardless of what shocks you use (as you probably well know). _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Yes. My car has a small ding on NACA duct because the adjuster hit it. _________________ Mikko

Hmm, I guess a small spacer is in order. Anyone have one off the car for a measurement or two? _________________ Toofah King Bad

When I fitted Koni's in 1987 they punched a hole in the NACA scoop. The solution to this wascut the end of an acorn lug nut and welded this in place. Looked ok once it was painted but in teh mid 90's when I had the hood off during a racing season we made a very small dimple which looked nicer than the top of the acorn nut (almost like a factory item) _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,

My car has a hole drilled, and a plastic cap in place. I like the dimple idea. _________________ "Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you are goin' all the way."

SOLUTION:
Before:
Spacer (3/8"):
Spacer and Spring Hat:
Spacer installed:
After:
I hope that is low enough not to dent my hood, but that's as low as it can go.
Final report coming! _________________ Toofah King Bad
